Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, has commenced the observance of Anti-Ragging Awareness Week, as part of its unwavering commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment.

The week-long observance aims to sensitize students about the legal, academic, and psychological implications of ragging, and to promote a culture of mutual respect and zero tolerance toward any form of harassment or intimidation on campus.

As part of the inaugural activities, a pledge-taking ceremony was organized wherein students from both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes participated with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility. The anti-ragging pledge was administered by Dr. Deepika Gautam, Additional Deputy Student Welfare (Women), reaffirming the university community’s collective resolve to eliminate ragging in all its forms.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena reiterated the university’s strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and other statutory bodies concerning anti-ragging measures. She further underscored the importance of fostering an environment where students can grow academically and personally without fear or discrimination.

HPNLU Shimla remains committed to creating a campus culture rooted in dignity, equality, and justice, and will continue to take proactive steps in raising awareness, enforcing regulations, and building community solidarity against ragging.
