KLE Society’s Law College is a private law school situated in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It is under the aegis of the KLE Society and is affiliated with Karnataka State Law University.

About the Journal

The Student Law Review Journal [Journal] is a student-run and student-edited, double blind peer-reviewed, open access journal to be published bi-annually by the Student Law Review Committee of the K.L.E. Society’s Law College, Bengaluru. 

The Journal is an interdisciplinary journal with a focus on law and its allied disciplines. The Journal encourages original research on issues of contemporary relevance which draws perspective and insights from the disciplines like Sociology, History, Psychological and Economics, etc and consequently generate a cross current of ideas on emerging issues in the dynamic subject area of law with respect to a transforming society.

The Journal is intended to provide a platform for young law students, researchers, professionals and luminaries to express their views and contribute to the ever advancing field of law, thereby initiating dialogue which appreciate the existing jurisprudence and explore the challenges that lie before lawmakers, lawyers and the society at large. 

Call for Papers

The Student Law Review Journal is now accepting submissions for the first issue of Volume 1. 

Theme

The Journal accepts submissions on any appropriate theme focussed on law, its convergence with other social sciences, or any matter of legal contemporary relevance. 

Categories of Submissions and Word Limits

  • Articles: 4000-6000 words
  • Case Notes: 1500-4000 words
  • Book Reviews: 1500-3000 words
  • Legislative Brief/Comment: 1500-3000 words

The word limits above is suggestive. The Journal is flexible when it comes to word limits. Subject to the quality of submission, exceeding word limit will generally not weigh against selection.

Co-authorship is permissible up to two authors.

Submission Guidelines

 Abstract

An abstract can be sent by the author at [email protected], 2 weeks preceding the submission of manuscript. This is optional. 

Mode of Submission of Abstract

Contributors are to submit their manuscripts through our electronic submission system of Google Forms in Microsoft Word format.

Please note that the Journal will not accept articles submitted via email.

Text Format

  • The font should be Times New Roman. The font size should be 14 for headings, 12 for regular text (1.5 spacing) and for footnotes it should be 10 (single space).
  • To facilitate the double-blind in the review process, please enclose your personal information such as name, affiliation, biographical information, acknowledgements, etc, to a separate cover page.
  • Please include the manuscript’s title on the first text page.

 Citation Format

The use of footnotes is recommended as opposed to endnotes. Footnotes should conform to the latest edition of the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA).

All submissions that are selected for the Journal become our copyright and must not be published elsewhere. For all selected submissions, due credit will be given to the author.
