About the Institute of law, Nirma university
Institute of Law is a constituent institute of Nirma University located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It was founded in 2007 on the vision of Padmashri Dr Karsanbhai K Patel. It is ranked 7th for Law by Outlook and 16th for Law by India Today in 2019. It imparts quality legal education and has produced new generation lawyers, leaders, and policymakers over the years embodying the principles of justice education, excellence and professionalism. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in the field of Law, Humanities and Social Science, Accounting and Commerce.
The institute offers part-time and full-time PhD courses. The undergraduate programme is offered in two five years Integrated courses BA LLB (Hons) and BCom LLB (Hons). LLM course is offered in specialisations like Constitutional and Administrative Law and Criminal and Security Law. PhD programme by the institute in three specialisations namely Constitutional Law, Human Rights Law and Criminal Law.
