A&P Partners Advises CheQ Digital Pvt Limited on India’s First LED-Illuminated Co-Branded Credit Card with AU Small Finance Bank

A&P Partners has advised CheQ Digital Pvt Limited (“CheQ”) on the launch of India’s first LED-illuminated co-branded credit card, introduced in partnership with AU Small Finance Bank.

The innovative product integrates a first-of-its-kind LED-powered tap-to-pay indicator, marking a notable advancement in India’s payments ecosystem by combining technology, design, and rewards into a differentiated consumer offering. Applications for the card will open on the CheQ app starting April 28, 2026.

A&P Partners advised CheQ on the legal and regulatory aspects underpinning the launch, including structuring the co-branded credit card program, reviewing transaction documentation, and facilitating requisite approvals in compliance with applicable banking and regulatory frameworks.

The transaction was led by Partner Ankita Singh, with support from Senior Associates Zalak Mody and Bhavya Shah. The team worked closely with CheQ and AU Small Finance Bank to enable a seamless and timely rollout of the product.

The newly launched credit card introduces several consumer-centric features, including LED-illuminated tap-to-pay functionality, a unified rewards ecosystem, high cashback rates, dual-network support (Visa and RuPay), and customer-friendly fee waivers.

From a legal standpoint, the transaction required navigating evolving fintech regulations and co-branded credit card guidelines in India. A&P Partners’ role was instrumental in ensuring regulatory alignment and execution certainty for the launch.
