About Marwadi University

Marwadi University was established under the Gujarat Universities Act (Act 9 of 2016) on 9 May 2016. The Marwadi Education Foundation’s Group of Institutions houses over 15,000 students from 52 countries enrolled in 32+ diversified programmes across Science, Commerce, and Humanities. About the Opportunity

The 6th Shree Abhay Bharadwaj Memorial International Moot Court Competition, 2026 marks the international edition of the flagship moot court competition hosted by the Faculty of Law, Marwadi University.

The competition provides a platform for law students from India and abroad to engage in rigorous courtroom advocacy, legal research, and global collaboration while upholding ethical principles of justice.

Theme

The moot proposition addresses issues relating to:

  • Non-International Armed Conflict under International Law
  • Applicability of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Human Rights Law (IHRL)
  • Legal Status of Detainees and ‘Unlawful Combatants’
  • Responsibility of State and Non-State Actors
  • Violations under Geneva Conventions, ICCPR, and Customary International Humanitarian Law

Eligibility

  • Law students enrolled in 3-year LL.B. Programme or 5-year Integrated Law Programme.
  • Institution must be recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
  • Maximum three teams per institution allowed.
  • Team Composition: 2 Speakers + 1 Researcher (max 3 members) OR 2 members (1 Speaker + 1 Speaker-cum-Researcher).

Registration Fee

  • ₹ 6,000 (USD $70) per team.
  • Inclusive of accommodation (non-AC) and food for 3 days.
  • Registration fee is non-refundable.

Prizes

  • Winner Team – ₹ 50,000 + Trophy
  • Runner-Up Team – ₹ 25,000 + Trophy
  • Best Speaker (Petitioner) – ₹ 5,000 + Trophy
  • Best Speaker (Respondent) – ₹ 5,000 + Trophy
  • Best Memorial (Petitioner) – ₹ 5,000 + Trophy
  • Best Memorial (Respondent) – ₹ 5,000 + Trophy
  • Best Researcher – ₹ 5,000 + Trophy
  • Certificates of Participation shall be provided to all participants.

  • 07 February 2026 – Release of Brochure & Commencement of Registration
  • 10 March 2026 – Last Date for Registration
  • 15 March 2026 – Last Date to Seek Clarifications
  • 18 March 2026 – Publication of Clarifications
  • 22 March 2026 – Last Date for Submission of Soft Copy of Memorial
  • 29 March 2026 – Last Date for Submission of Hard Copy of Memorial
  • 02 April 2026 – Inaugural Ceremony & Draw of Lots
  • 03 April 2026 – Preliminary & Quarter-Final Rounds
  • 04 April 2026 – Semi-Final, Final & Valedictory Ceremony

Registration Process

  • Registration opens from 07 February 2026.
  • Fill out the online registration form.
  • Registration is complete only after successful payment and submission of complete form.
  • Team Code and confirmation will be provided by 12 March 2026.
