Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur (MNLU Nagpur) was established in 2016 and has rapidly emerged as a leading institution for legal education and research in India. The competition is organised by the Moot Court Committee (MCC), MNLU Nagpur, which has successfully conducted four editions of the National Technology Law Moot and other prestigious moot court events, reflecting its commitment to advocacy and academic excellence.

The 5th National Technology Law Moot, 2026 is one of the very few moot court competitions in India exclusively dedicated to Technology Law. The competition follows a two-stage format:

  • Stage 1: Memorial Evaluation Round
  • Stage 2: Offline Oral Rounds at the MNLU Nagpur campus

The top 20 teams qualify for the oral rounds based on memorial scores. Participants argue contemporary legal issues at the intersection of law, technology, and policy before eminent academicians, practitioners, and industry experts.

Eligibility

  • Students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programmes
  • One team per university (maximum two provisional slots per university)

Registration / Submission Procedure

  1. Provisional Registration: Universities may provisionally register up to two teams through the online form.
  2. Final Registration: All teams must complete registration for the Memorial Evaluation Round after provisional registration.
  3. Memorial Submission: Memorials must be submitted by the prescribed deadline as per the rulebook.

Fee Details

  • Stage 1 (Memorial Evaluation): INR 4,500/- (inclusive of GST)
  • Stage 2 (Oral Rounds: Qualified Teams): INR 4,500/- (inclusive of GST, includes accommodation)

Prizes

  • Winner: INR 40,000/-
  • Runners-Up: INR 25,000/-
  • Best Memorial: INR 12,000/-
  • Best Speaker: INR 12,000/-
  • Best Researcher: INR 12,000/-
