The Environmental Law Society is a student-led initiative aimed at promoting environmental awareness and legal scholarship through workshops, seminars, field engagement, and academic competitions.

About the Opportunity

The Environmental Law Society (ELS), Faculty of Law, Integral University, Lucknow is organising the 3rd Case Analysis Competition, 2026.

The 3rd Case Analysis Competition, 2026 is a national-level academic writing competition focusing on environmental law. The competition aims to strengthen participants’ legal research, analytical reasoning, and legal writing skills by requiring analysis of landmark environmental law cases.

Participants must prepare a case analysis on one of the prescribed cases related to environmental law. The submission must be original, unpublished, and prepared according to the prescribed formatting and citation guidelines.

Eligibility

The competition is open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students currently enrolled in any recognized institution or university across India. Single authorship and co-authorship (maximum two authors) are permitted.

Location

Virtual / Online Mode (India). No hard-copy submission is required; all submissions are to be made online.

Registration Procedure

Participants must register through the official registration Google Form and upload proof of payment for successful registration. Submissions must be made via the official submission Google Form in Microsoft Word format (.doc/.docx). The manuscript must be written in English, between 2000–3000 words including citations, and follow ILI rules of footnoting. The document should be in Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, with footnotes in font size 10 and single spacing. A cover page containing participant details is mandatory, while the main manuscript must not include identifying information. Plagiarism beyond 15% will lead to disqualification.

  • Single Author: ₹150
  • Co-Author: ₹200
