About the Organising University
Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature (Act No. 9 of 2012) to provide quality legal education at the global level.
About 2nd TNNLU National Insolvency Moot Court Competition
The inaugural edition of the TNNLU National Insolvency Moot Court Competition witnessed an enthusiastic response, with participation from 26 universities across the country. Encouraged by the success of the first edition, we are pleased to announce the Second Edition of the TNNLU National Insolvency Moot Court Competition (NIMCC), 2026. This edition focuses on the various nuances in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), with specific emphasis on the interplay between banking and insolvency laws & regulatory bodies and the connotation of cross-border insolvency, offering participants a rigorous and contemporary insolvency law problem.
Eligibility
Law students duly enrolled in the 3-year LL.B. courses or 5-year integrated LL.B. courses undergraduate programmes may apply to participate in the Competition. Two teams per Institution/University can participate in the Competition.
Team Composition
3 Members (2 Speakers and 1 Researcher) (or) 2 Members (2 Speakers).
Registration Procedure
All Institutions interested in participation may provisionally register themselves filling out the provisional registration link given below and thereby reserve a slot for the institution on or before 11:59PM (IST) of 2nd January 2026. Two (2) teams can register from each university.
There shall be a cap on the number of teams. The number of teams shall be restricted to Thirty-Six (36), based on a first-come first-serve basis of provisional registration done by institutions. Only the teams that have completed provisional registration within the cap (i.e., the first thirty-six teams) shall be permitted to proceed to final registration formalities.
Registration Fees
A total amount of INR 6000/- (inclusive of accommodation).

- Winning Team – INR 30,000/-
- Runners Up – INR 20,000/-
- Best Researcher – INR 10,000/-
- Best Speaker – INR 10,000/-
- Best Memorandum – INR 10,000/-

The important dates of the 2nd TNNLU-National Insolvency Moot Court Competition, 2026 are as detailed below:
- Release of Brochure, Rule Book and Moot Proposition: 22nd December, 2026
- Deadline for Provisional Registration: 2nd January, 2026
- Deadline for Final Registration: 15th January, 2026
- Last Day for seeking Clarifications: 17th January, 2026
- Release of Clarifications for the Moot Proposition: 19th January, 2026
- Submission of Memorials (Soft Copy): 4th February, 2026
