About the Event

The 2nd NLUJ Right to Education Paper Presentation and Discussion is being conducted by the Legal Aid and Awareness Committee (LAAC), at National Law University, Jodhpur. It aims to elevate awareness and exposure towards the practical aspects of the Right to Education Act (RTE Act), 2009. It seeks to understand the state of implementation of RTE in India through inputs of participants; highlight the gaps in the Right to Education Act, 2009; and suggest and recommend changes in the RTE Act, 2009 on the basis of statistics collected.

About the Inaugural Edition

In 2023, the Committee organized the inaugural edition of the NLUJ Right to Education Paper Presentation and Discussion Series. The event attracted participation from around 24 premier law colleges across the nation, who conducted a survey on the implementation of RTE in their State and included a panel discussion featuring esteemed experts in the field of RTE. This successful event laid a strong foundation for future editions. Read more here.

This event continues the legacy of the inaugural edition and is aligned with the objectives of Section 4(k) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and the provisions of the RTE, 2009. The inaugural edition of the event witnessed participation from 24 law universities across the country, focusing on monitoring the implementation of the RTE Act and raising awareness about its significance.

Structure of the Event

Each participating university is required to conduct an RTE survey in their respective regions through a questionnaire on the state of implementation of the RTE Act, 2009. Once the survey is completed, participating teams have to make a comprehensive report/paper on the same, making use of the data & statistics The final paper presentations will take place from 8th – 9th February 2025.

Team Composition

Teams may consist of up to 10 members and a minimum of 4 members.
Only 2 members may represent the university in the report launch programme.

Registration Fee

The registration fee (inclusive GST) for a team is INR 1,000/- (Rupees Thousand Only) which can be paid via this link.
Institutions interested in participating in the competition may register by filling in this form with the screenshot of payment.
