About School of Excellence in Law, The Tamilnadu Dr Ambedkar Law University 

Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University is a public state university established in 1997 at Chennai, India by the Government of Tamil Nadu under The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University Act, 1996, which also brought all law colleges in Tamil Nadu under the control of the university.

About the Competition

The purpose of organizing the “2^nd National Tamil Moot Court Competition 2024 – 2025” is to encourage mooting in the regional language of Tamil and the Competition aims to increase interest in the topic of International Law in order to rekindle the student’s enthusiasm for the constantly evolving topics of law. The competition will in fact provide a dynamic and ideal platform for bringing together some of the brightest and most astute young minds, and it will showcase how well they can advocate for their cases and conduct research, which will be judged by legal professionals.

Event Details

• Researcher Test: 24^th December 2024 (Google Meet)
• Inaugural, Orientation, Oral Competition Rounds, Valedictory Ceremony & Prize distribution: 27^th & 28^th of December, 2024 (Online) and 25^th of January 2025 (offline) at Perungudi Campus.

Important Dates

• Release of Proposition: 29th November 2024
• Last Date for seeking clarifications: 18th December 2024
• Final Registration Deadline: 20^th December 2024
• Researcher Test: 24^th December 2024 (Google Meet)
• Preliminary rounds and Quarter-finals:  27^th and 28^th December 2024
• Semi-finals and Finals: 25^th January 2025
• Memorial Submission (soft copy): 22^nd December 2024

Registration Process

Teams can provisionally register by sending an email to soelsmcc1[at]gmail.com and each institution can send 2 teams.

For final registration for the competition, please fill this G-Form and complete the registration process. Kindly ensure that the registration form is duly filled and submitted before the deadline.

Registration Fee

• The teams wishing to participate in the Competition from Private institutions will be required to pay a registration fee of Rs. 1,500 (Rupees Thousand Five Hundred nly) on or before 20^th December, 2024.
• The teams wishing to participate in the Competition from Institutions affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University will be required to pay a registration fee of Rs. 1,200 (Rupees Thousand Two Hundred only) on or before 20^th December, 2024.

In addition to the above awards, Certificates are given to all the above categories & participants of the Competition.
