About The NAlSAR University Of Law

The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, also known as NALSAR University of Law is a National Law University located in Secunderabad, Hyderabad. The University was established in 1998 by an Act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature. It is popularly known as NALSAR or NALSAR Hyderabad and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited with an “A” grade with a score of 3.60 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

About the event

The moot proposition for the 1st NALSAR PIL Moot Court Competition was drafted by Dr. Srinivas Burra, Assistant Professor at the South Asian University who has written extensively on areas pertaining to Public International Law and TWAIL. The 1st edition also saw exclusive-association of the moot with the Indian Society of International Law and Enhelion as Knowledge Partners. The Competition facilitated face-to-face interaction between international law scholars and enthusiasts, with law students. The finals of the moot were adjudicated by Prof. B.S.Chimni, Dr. K. Balakista Reddy, Mr. M. Koteswara Rao, Mr. David Ambrose and Dr. Srinivas Burra.

Owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NALSAR have decided to conduct the rounds virtually for this year’s edition of the moot. The Moot Proposition including the registration procedure will be released tentatively on 15th February, 2021 and the oral rounds will be held on 15th-16th May, 2021.
