About the 2nd Chanakya Moot Court Competition

The 2nd Chanakya Moot Court Competition focuses on competition law and data privacy, examining issues like algorithmic pricing, market dominance, data monetisation, and the right to privacy. It will be held at Chanakya University on 17–18 April 2026 and aims to give law students a platform to develop advocacy skills while engaging with contemporary legal challenges.

The competition will have five rounds: Preliminary, Octa Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals. Teams will be matched against each other through a draw of lots before each round.

Eligibilty

The competition is open to undergraduate students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programs from recognized law schools, colleges, and universities across India. Each institution is allowed to send only one team.

Team Composition

  • Each team must consist of three members: two speakers and one researcher.
  • Once registered, no member can be replaced without prior approval of the CMCS.
  • Teams will be assigned a code and must not reveal their identity or institution during the competition; any such disclosure will result in disqualification, and the CMCS decision will be final.

Registration Procedure

  • All teams that desire to participate in the competition must fill the Google registration form on or before 07-03-2026 (7th March 2026) through the link by attaching the scanned copy/screen shot of the registration fee of Rs. 4,500/- with accommodation and Rs. 2,500/-without accommodation
  • Confirmation of registration will be sent via email upon successful completion of the process.
  • Only the first 32 teams will be accepted, with no spot registrations, no late entries, and no refunds after confirmation.
  • Each team must submit participant details (final for certificates), an NOC from the institution, and a signed declaration form agreeing to the rules.
  • The event venue is Chanakya University Global Campus, Bengaluru.

Prizes

Prizes shall be awarded in the following categories:

  • Winning Team: INR [45,000] + Trophy + Certificate
  • Runners-Up Team: INR [35,000] Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Speaker: INR [10,000] + Certificate
  • Best Memorial: INR [5000] + Certificate
  • Participation certificates shall be provided to all teams.

Important Dates

  • 13 February 2026 – Problem Release
  • 15 March 2026 – Last Day for Registrations [Extended from 7 March]
  • 5 April 2026 – Memorial Submission (Soft Copy)
  • 5 April 2026 – Memorial Submission (Hard Copy)
  • 17–18 April 2026 – Moot Court Competition
