About Think India & NLU Delhi
Think India is a pan-India initiative dedicated to nurturing future leaders with a strong sense of patriotism, constitutional values, and a “Nation First” ethos. Established through the collective efforts of students from premier institutions such as IISc, IIM Bangalore, NIMHANS, and NLSIU, the initiative channels India’s intellectual capital towards national reconstruction. In legal education, Think India promotes practical learning through moot court competitions, trial advocacy competitions, seminars, and workshops in collaboration with leading institutions, legal professionals, and academicians.
National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) is one of India’s leading national law universities, renowned for its rigorous, research-driven curriculum, strong mooting tradition, and vibrant student community. It serves as a hub for interdisciplinary legal scholarship and intellectual exchange.

About the Opportunity
Think India, in collaboration with National Law University Delhi, is organising the 1st National Trial Advocacy Competition, a premier platform for fostering excellence in courtroom advocacy and trial practice. The competition simulates contemporary trial proceedings, testing participants on both substantive/procedural law knowledge and their ability to apply it through examination-in-chief, crossexamination, objections, arguments, and overall courtroom strategy.
Theme
The competition is based on a criminal law proposition, designed to test participants’ strategic thinking, teamwork, persuasive advocacy, and professionalism in a simulated trial setting.
Eligibility
- Open to students pursuing the Three-Year LL.B. or Five-Year Integrated LL.B. programme.
- Approximately 20 teams from leading law institutions across India are expected to participate, including NLSIU Bengaluru, NALSAR Hyderabad, NUJS Kolkata, NLIU Bhopal, GNLU Gandhinagar, NLU Jodhpur, RGNUL Punjab, RMLNLU Lucknow, HPNLU Shimla, Symbiosis Law School, Jindal Global Law School, Government Law College Mumbai, Christ University, and others.
- Each team shall comprise 2 Speakers and 2 Researchers-cum-Witnesses.
Registration Fee
₹6000 /-

Important Dates
- 6th July – registration open and problem release
- 20th July – registration close
- 22nd July – deadline for making payment
- 2nd August – memo submission
- 7th August – submission of physical copies of memo, and exchange of memo
- 8th August – prelim rounds
- 8th August – quarter final rounds
- 9th August – final rounds
