About The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (RGNUL)

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala (RGNUL) is an autonomous National Law University (NLU) established under the second wave of reforms instituted by the Bar Council of India. Established in 2006, RGNUL has garnered a pan-India reputation as a stellar institution for legal research and education. In May 2015, RGNUL became the first and the only NLU to have been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade.

In March 2018, RGNUL was amongst the four NLUs to have been granted an autonomous status by the University Grants Commission. The University has been ranked among the top 10 law schools in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

About Moot Court Committee, RGNUL

The RGNUL Moot Court Committee is one of the leading and most active committees here at RGNUL, the significance of the committee is immense. The committee has been known for organizing various moots and related activities aimed at promoting a positive sense for mooting culture. The committee also facilitates the allotment of various national and international moot court competitions to the teams who proudly represent RGNUL in these competitions.

This edition of the competition will be held in a hybrid mode with the following schedule:

Eligibility

The representation will be through a team three (3) students. All participants must be full-time candidates presently enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme in law at any Bar Council of India recognized university.

Registration Process

The participating teams are required to pay a registration fee of INR 3000/- (plus GST) at the time of registration for the preliminary rounds. The accommodation fee for the Advanced Rounds shall be INR 6000/- (plus GST) which shall be paid after qualifying to the Advanced Rounds. This fee shall be inclusive of accommodation for 3 days (16th, 17th & 18th April, 2026).

Registration may be done by filling the form attached to the rulebook of the competition. Please note that the Final Registration form requires a Letter of Authorization signed by the Head of the Institution/Head of the Moot Court Committee/Society/Association mentioning the details of all the three members. Confirmation of Registration of the teams will be duly communicated.
