About Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University

Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU) is a public state university established in 1997 at Chennai, India by the Government of Tamil Nadu under The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University Act, 1996, which also brought all law colleges in Tamil Nadu under the control of the university.

It was named after B. R. Ambedkar, an Indian jurist, social reformer and the architect the Constitution of India. The university was inaugurated on 20 September 1997 by K. R. Narayanan, former president of India. The university started a law school on its own campus in 2002 as the School of Excellence in Law, Chennai (SOEL).

About the Event

The School of Excellence in Law, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University take immense pleasure in announcing the 14th edition of the K.R. Ramamani Taxation Moot Court Competition & 14^th V.S. Sundaram Research Paper Competition, 2024 (http://www.krrtaxmoot.law).

The Competition is set to take place on virtually on 9th and 10th February, 2024 with Semi-finals and finals being conducted physically on 10th March 2024 at the School of Excellence in Law, Taramani Campus. The announcement of the winners of the 14^th V.S.Sundaram Research Paper Competition, 2024 will take place during the valedictory ceremony on 10^th March, 2024.

Please note that both competitions are independent of each other.

Date Of The Competition

• The preliminary rounds, and quarter-final round of the 14th K.R. Ramamani Memorial Taxation National Moot Court Competition 2024 will be conducted ONLINE through the video conferencing application “GOOGLE MEET”™ on the 9^thand 10^th of Feb, 2024.
• The Researcher’s Interview will be conducted ONLINE through the video conferencing application “GOOGLE MEET”™ on 7^th and 8^th Feb 2024.
• The Semi-Finals and Finals will be conducted OFFLINE at TNDALU, SOEL, Taramani Campus on 10th March 2024.

Eligibility

• Participation in the 14^th K.R Ramamani Memorial Taxation Moot is strictly restricted to bona fide law students enrolled in the three-year or five-year LL.B. or B.L. degree course in any institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
• Only one team is permitted to participate from each registered institution.
• Each team shall comprise of a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. In a team consisting of two members, each of the members shall be designated as ‘Speaker’. In a team consisting of three members, two of the members shall be designated as ‘Speaker’ and the third member shall be designated as ‘Researcher’.
• Any number of students enrolled in undergraduate courses of law, commerce, accountancy and taxation can participate in the 14^th V.S Research Paper Competition, 2024.
