Brief Profile of School of Legal Studies, Regional Centre, H.P University, Dharmsala

Himachal Pradesh University, Shimladecided to start a regional centre at Dharamshala in the year 1992, which is an ideal place for the establishment of such a regional centre to impart education at Post graduate level in different subjects of humanities ,science and commerce to the students hailing from the districts of kangra, Hamirpur, Una, Mandi and particularly the students belonging to far- flung and remote areas of the chamba, kullu and lahaul spiti. H. P. University, Shimla campus is at a long distance from these areas.

The establishment of this Regional Centre at Dharamshala will, therefore, go a long way in bringing up the region in educational attainment and improving the quality of its work-force.

Students are admitted on the basis of a law entrance test conducted by the H.P. University, Shimla. The syllabus and Course contents are revised from time to time by the Faculty of Laws of H.P. University, Shimla.
