The Department of Law, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak was established in the University in 1978 with the following broad objectives:- (i) to train students for career as Professional Advocates in the Courts; (ii) to equip/prepare them for judicial services; (iii) to improve legal competence; (iv) to train students for career as Personnel Managers in Organizations; (v) to prepare competent personnel for careers in teaching, research and consultancy in legal procedure and problems; and (vi) to extend the frontiers of knowledge in law through research and development.

The Department of Law, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak have a rich Deptt. library. Every year a large number of students join Civil & Judicial services in Haryana and other states.
