The Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University was established by an Act passed by the parliament (No. 58 of 1994). Department of Human Rights conducts post-graduate teaching and research programmes in the areas relating to Human Rights and Law and aims at recommending appropriate measures for enforcing human rights and securing ends of justice through legal and democratic processes.
The Vision of the University is, “To be a dynamic, creative and competitive Centre of Excellence in advanced knowledge, especially relevant for the development of the nation and of the socially, educationally and economically marginalized sections of the people”.
