Brief Profile of Govt Nehru PG College, Ashoknagar<\/h2>\n

Government Nehru Degree College, Ashok Nagar (M.P.) is an under graduate college. efforts are being done to get the status of PG college for havingPG in 09 subjects. this college caters the needs of students who want to pursue higher education without any distinction of e, class, creed, religion and gender. its main goals are providing value based education to the students from rural and urban back ground. the college has shown its growth capacity in academic front despite many constraints and limited resources, since the establishment of the college.<\/p>\n

Government Nehru College is situated in Ashok Nagar, has got the status of district in 2003. ashoknagar is well known for its grain mandi and “sharbati gaihu”, a type of wheat. it was formerly known as pachar. ashoknagar is situated on the kota-bina railway section of western central railway. ashoknagar is located in the northern part of madhya pradesh, between the rivers of sindh and of betwa. it comes under the northern part of malwa plateau, though main part of its district lies in the bundelkhand plateau. there are many tourist spots in the outskirts of ashoknagar. ashoknagar is famous for the jain temple called trikaal choubeese also famous for it’s tahsil called ‘chanderi’, which is about 60 km from ashoknagar. chanderi was earlier, at the time of mahabharata, known as “chendi”. chendi naresh shishupal was its ruler, who was then killed by lord krishna. chanderi sarees are famous all over the world.<\/p>\n
