This one-month Advanced certificate course on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) offers a comprehensive understanding of India’s insolvency and bankruptcy regime. The course is designed to equip participants with knowledge and skills related to the legal and practical aspects of insolvency, corporate resolution processes, liquidation, cross-border insolvency, and the insolvency of individuals and partnership firms.

Modules and Course Plan
Week 1: Introduction to Insolvency and Bankruptcy Regime
- Session 1: Introduction to Insolvency and Bankruptcy Regime Overview of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), 2016 – Historical context and the need for IBC Key objectives and structure of the IBC Role of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI)
- Session 2: Key Provisions and Legal Framework Definitions and key concepts Important provisions of the IBC Institutions and authorities involved in the insolvency process Recent amendments and developments
Week 2: Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process and Liquidation
- Session 3: Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) Initiation of CIRP Role of Insolvency Resolution Professional (IRP) and Committee of Creditors (CoC) Steps in the resolution process: moratorium, public announcement, claims verification, resolution plan Case studies and practical insights.
- Session 4: Corporate Liquidation Process Initiation of liquidation Role and powers of the liquidator Process of liquidation: asset sale, distribution of proceeds, closure Case studies and practical insights
Week 3: Skill Development for Insolvency Practitioners and Cross-Border Insolvency
